Anatoliy Kryvolap
He received a classical professional education at the State Art Institute in Kyiv (now the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture). After graduating, he spent 15 years actively searching for himself in art, unwilling to create within the framework of socialist realism.
An important event in Kryvolap's creative life was the republican art exhibition dedicated to the 45th anniversary of the victory in World War II (Kyiv, 1990). The artist's work "Crimson Heights" presented there caused a significant stir, essentially revealing the artist to the art community. Soon Kryvolap joined the creative association "Painting Reserve" (1992-1995), which played a significant role in the development of contemporary Ukrainian fine art.The following years were marked by a powerful creative rise and wide recognition of the artist not only in Ukraine but also beyond its borders. Works by Kryvolap were actively exhibited, sold and collected all over the world. In 2011, Kryvolap won the national "Person of the Year" award in the "Artist of the Year" category. At the same time, a photograph of the Ukrainian artist appeared on the cover of Forbes magazine for the first time.
In 2012, a landmark event in the artist's life was the presentation to him of the highest state award, the Shevchenko National Prize, for the painting cycle "Ukrainian Motif".
